Sergio Flores? Okay, Considering this guy is the only guy on the RSL roster that has never played in a regular game and also that I've never been to a reserve game....
Is Flores any good? Will he be good? Just tell me about his play. 🕺

He's looked good in the games against BYU that I've been to. He hustles, doesn't seem to get beat much and only has one speed (all-out sprint). I like him and would like to see him get a chance in these last few games.

I LOVE Sergio Flores! As my favorite thing to shout at him at the reserves matches are, "You bring a SERG of energy!" He's awesome. Very quick and very physical. Quick turns and huge legs. Wait...sorry, maybe you didn't care about that last one...

Two things in his favor:
He is hispanic and he is a Utahn. Maybe just because of the second one he'll get another chance next year.

Flores is a converted forward, playing right back...I was surprised to hear him called quick, because he doesn't seem very quick to me. He has reasonable top speed, but not very quick acceleration. When he's on the ball, he looks like a forward, in that he looks comfortable and he looks to dribble into space. He will occasionally be seen streaking up the right side in reserve games, but he's still learning to be a defender. The last game I saw him play was the Earthquakes game, so I haven't seen him play that recently. Is he better than Behncke? Yes, and no...not as good in the air as Behncke was, but not prone to the same total cluelessness on the ball either...do I expect to see him play for Cabrera soon? No. He's young and he's a project...it remains to be seen whether Ellinger sees enough potential for him to stay. Last edited by utah_heretic : 10-02-2005 at 04:39 PM.
