I guess to put it in perspective, my other MUST stay is Kreis. Players I would like to stick around: Akwari - sweet header at the HarborView match, quality skills/effort Cabrera - fun style, great technique, great attitude (hair?) Tiger - I'm still a Tiger fan through and through. He deserves more starts. Flores - give the local a shot. He's a good story, and he's in MLS for a reason. Gregorio - consistent, if not super fancy. Consistency is something I value. Pierce - Bulldog... what more need I say? Pope - Experience and the commanding defensive presence. Scarlett - Speed and creativity. Jamaican connection doesn't hurt. Tarley - Knows how to score goals, has the talent, is fun to watch. Watson - Effort, intensity, vibe. He'll make a mark. I don't really wish anybody to go, but whatever changes happen I hope that these folks don't go. Keep it up RSL, win the CUP!!! RMC tommorow and the MLS cup next year! (?) 🙂

Okay-
DJ-Go-I hope that everybody won't get all mad at me, but Nolly has just been better in my book. Akwari-Stay-He'll be a great sub (or even starter) next year in the defense. Rusty-Undecided-When he's healthy he's good, but when has he been healthy for more than five games? Paul Broome-Stay-Great Defender. Works well with the team. Kamler (If he were still playing next season)-Stay-He's 500 times better than Cutler. Cila-Undecided-I dunno... with Kreis injured, We got Watson and Tarley, but a sub? Williams-Stay-Is there any question? This guy is amazing. Gregorio-Stay-Didn't impress me in the first game he played but after that he's very consistent. Jason Kreis-Stay-He's injured, but he's good. Let's keep him until he retires. Mathis-Go-I HATE MATHIS!!!! Chris Brown-Stay-Great sub (maybe even starter). I just like his style. Tiger-Stay-skillz! Mad Skillz! Dunseth-Undecided-Considering that he's my favorite player, ummm. We could get someone good.... Tarley-Stay-He's still young. He's good. He just needs to adapt to the skill level in the MLS better. Lil' Robby-Stay-He's fast, he's good. Enough said. Cutler-Go, or die-Man, I hate this guy more than Mathis!! Nolly-Stay-Better than DJ in my book. Kreamelmeyer-Stay-He's shown some potential. Let's keep him. Besagno-Undecided-He's, I think a little too young. If we would've picked him two years later, I'd keep him. Flores-undecided-Never seen him play but, he's #21, that's my number!! Watson-Stay-Greatest 2nd round pick ever. Pope-Stay-Love this guy, let's keep him until he retires. Trembly-Undecided-Good at times, bad at times, hmmm.... Cabrera-Stay-impressive skill Kevin Novak-Stay-Amazing vs. the Colombus Poo. Keep him. Lookingland-Go-He didn't play to well when we played him. Knowles-Stay-He'll be a good sub. Washington-Go-Why'd we even get this guy? 56 goals in MLS carreer my eye! So... Stay-16 Undecided-6 Go-5 Well..... there's my 2 cents. Go Real Salt Lake! Beat those dang Crapids!! This is officially, my longest post ever, anywhere, wow.

Pretty good list

The only person I've grudgingly determined should go is Mathis. I think he served part of the reason we brought him here (a draw for media and potential fans), but unfortunately hasn't served the most important reason we brought him here. To be a playmaker. He's shown that he can be good, but not consistently - or at least not on this team. He's too expensive to keep around and not be producing frequently and consistently. If he wouldn't mind taking a pay cut a few 100,000 then perhaps we could keep him, but at this point, I think Andy has shown that he can be more consistent and show forth more effort in that position than Mathis has/can.
Other than that, I wouldn't mind keeping everyone else and taking the teamwork that has started to grow with this group into the next season. With that said, if a couple others have to go, I'd say Cila, and Washington - and not because I don't like what they could bring or have brought, but just that I don't see as much potential in those two than the others on the team. __________________

I was just reading the chat session yesterday with new Crew coach Sig Scmidt.
One of the posters mentions how the Crew in 2006 will have 3 quality keepers (Jordan, Busch and Walker) and I agree. I know it has come up before, but I wonder if RSL has any plans to upgrade the GK position thru trades? Countess did his best this year, but I really think someone like Jon Busch or Jonny Walker would be a better keeper for RSL. What are your thoughts?

I would love to see Walker on this team, but we could get the same results if he gets the same number of shots on goals as DJ got this season.

I understand that a goalie lives and dies by his defensive line, but don't you think someone like Walker or Busch would make more saves than Countess?

Part of that was DJ's fault. The GK has some control over the amount of shots he faces.

Like I said, I would love to see Walker on this team.

It's always partly the GK's fault. But DJ still hasn't had a fair shot at this job. If he misses the same percentage with a decent line, then let's talk. But DJ was put in an impossible position. It would be unfair for him to get axed for it. I really like him and there have been times where he's truly shown some exceptional ability.
