Even if the teams don't have a big rivalry going, if the fans do the Brimstone and Rocky Mountain Cups work.

Agree.

I was in DC when the front offices came up with the Atlantic Cup. It just doesn't work, mainly because DC fans--with some justification--consider no one to be worthy of status as their rival. I've never liked DC, but they have won four MLS Cups and a good collection of other hardware as well. Only the Galaxy and Fire come close.

It could have been the Crew early on, and there's a mutual dislike with the Galaxy. I'm sure DC fans enjoy watching Metro flounder for yet another year, but most MLS fans enjoy that since Metro has been propped up by the league from the beginning (Super Club!). Best bet would actually be New England, with last season's epic conference final series a good place to start.

But it has to come from the fans. The RMC is off to a good start for the first year.

I knew it was your fault!

I think the thing that irked the 3 and a half actual cRapids fans was that we went to there house and schooled them on how to cheer for one's team.

I know if that happened at RES that there would be an altercation or two... but since that will never EVER happen at RES or at the SSS we will always be gracious hosts.

Wish we could say the same for the 3 and a half cRapids fans...

Oh well... I hope next year they schedule the 2 away cRapids matches far enough apart to where I can afford to go to both. I will be going again.

I'd say you should do more but I suppose finding out what hotel rooms they were in and leaving flaming bags of poo at their door in teh middle of the night would be goiing a bit too far.

:D

Actually that's Bill, not Jeremy. Jeremy isn't in Denver at the moment.
