My personal most memorable moments in RSL history April 16, 2005 - Real Salt Lake wins their first game ever vs. Colorado
June 4, 2005 - I attend my first ever World Cup Qualifier. June 8, 2005 - I go to my first tailgate with "The Loyalists" on a Wednesday night friendly vs. Universidad Catolica. Hardly anyone showed up. June 22, 2005 - I take my brother in law to his first RSL game and I stand with "The Loyalists" for the first time. July 2, 2005 - I attend my first RSL practice and get signatures from Kreis, Mathis, Nolly, Countess, and Dunseth July 4, 2005 - Kevin Graham (1320 KFAN) attends tail gate party, later makes fun of my face paint on air. Jaime Watson comes over to our section and signs autographs after 2-2 tie vs. Metros. July 9, 2005 - I order the chicken at Iggy's, RSL loses to Chivas 5-1. (Okay, not a great moment, but memorable.) July 13, 2005 - Chat session with Loyalists and Maggie Fitzpatrick during RSL vs. Minnesota Thunder. August 6, 2005 - My wife attends her first RSL game along with five of the kids and my inlaws. It was 118 degrees on the pitch. RSL wins 2-1 vs. Chivas. August 13, 2005 - Jason Kreis scores his 100th Goal (so far the greatest moment in RSL history, IMO). August 24, 2005 - Sholesey (sorry if I spelled it wrong) gives us 3 extra tickets for friendly vs. Harbour View. Wife and kids attend again. Wife discusses forming new supporters group of women only. I have only missed 3 home games, 4/30 vs. San Jose, 9/3 vs. New England, and 9/24 vs. Columbus. I have been in attendance for every single one of RSL's wins this season.

Good thread Roger, I've been thinking about this as well now that the season is shortly comming to an end. My most memorable moments?
The Best Game of the Year May 14th vs LA Galaxy. Real played their best game of the year I think beating LA 2 -1. I also think this game was our best as a supporters section. We had a large number of supporters there, our cheers were loud and organized, and we gave Landon Donovan the hardest time he has probably ever gotten from a group of hooligans. The Funnest Game of the Year June 8th vs Universidad Catolica. This is the game I have to say I had the most fun at. The team had been struggling up to this point and at half time we again found ourselves behind, 2 - 0. Coach Ellinger puts in a bunch of subs at halftime including Jaime Watson and Real fought it's way back and wins 3 - 2. We didn't have as many people in the supporters section but we were loud, organized and it was alot of fun. The Most Worn Out I Was at the End of the Game July 4th vs Metro. Again we found ourselves behind at halftime 2 - 0. Real battles their way back and ties the game on a PK from Kreis with only minutes left. I left the game worn out from cheering like no other game. The Most Proud I was of the Team August 13th vs Kansas City. Although we lost this game 2 - 4, the team really fought their way back in the second half. Again from a deficeit and came back and did really tie the game up but the butthead ref disallowed Kreis' late goal. Kill the ref! The Most Frustrating Game of the Year August 20th vs San Jose. This game caused me to give up for awhile. Really needing a win we loose 1 - 0 and looked like crap. It really looked like we didn't care so four days later when Real took on Harbor View in a friendly, I had no desire to go so I gave my ticket to a friend at work, didn't think about soccer at all and subsequently missed my only game of the year. The Game that Should Have Been Played at Night August 6th vs CD Chivas. Although a fun game and a nice 2 -1 win, the heat was terrible. And it could have been worse, it was only in the mid 90's. Thanks ESPN for the physically dangerous start time. All I could do at the end of the game was sit there and hope that I wouldn't pass out. All in all, its been an amazing year and I'm a season ticket holder for good now. Thanks RSL! Last edited by the cup : 09-28-2005 at 09:41 AM.

Awesome posts!!!!
That game against the Galaxy was indeed amazing!! The Universidad comeback was excellent as well! I also really enjoyed the World Cup Qualifier - even though I didn't sit with the Loyalists. __________________

π My most memorable games:
The very first RSL game (played in a hurricane)! The second RSL road game, in which Jason Kreis scored the very first RSL goal, ever! Even more memorable, because I won the contest to predict who would score first, and when! The first ever RSL home game, and first ever RSL win. My first US World Cup qualifier, and double-header. I was soooo tired at the end of the second game. A VERY memorable day. Of course, every game is memorable in the Loyalist section. __________________

My most memorable moments were
Waibel giving us a crusty Donovan giving us a crusty De Rosario giving us a crusty Wolfe giving us way more than a crusty. Did I miss anybody? And after the 3-0 win against Dallas when everyone sang along to Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" as we packed up to go. I know, I'm a dork. But I don't apologize Because there was something about that night...

Mine has got to be the game I went to right after I broke two of my toes falling down our stairs getting in the shower to get ready. DizzyHolly sat with me at the game. We cheered on the team, and she helped cheer me up. We talked about some stuff, Gordon flirted with her, and all was good.

Best moments:
The hurricane in Jersey (first time we got to break out the RSL shirts-- MetroStars fans told me and my soaking wet family they thought it was COOL we came all the way out from SLC). Spanking division-leading LA GALAXY Spanking division-leading FC Dallas Jamie and the subs coming back against U Catolica to renew my faith in soccer! Jason's #100-- MLS goal of the year Dunny's planting the corner flag after 1st home goal against Rapids Andy's steal and goal against Columbus

The best moment for me this past season:
The first home game I got to attend in person was the game against Chicago. Once the game started and I got to sit there and actually witness tons of fans cheering for an MLS team in Salt Lake, it made my eyes well up. It was like 15 years of being envious of European soccer towns and the failed Utah franchises of the past were finally wiped away. I had to fight back the tears of joy. Runners Up: The 3-0 beating of Dallas, and the 2-2 comeback special against NY/NJ.

I was thinking of starting up this thread a month ago, and didn't, but since someone else did for me, I'll go ahead and enter the memorable moments I was going to post then. These are just memorable moments for me, not the greatest things the team did or anything like that.
#1- At the world cup qualifier: Glenn starts up a chant. "If you want another goal clap your hands" *clap* *GOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!* For once the team was paying attention to us. I can't recall if it was the second or third goal that day, but it was timed perfectly to our chant. We don't really use that chant anymore, which is good by me, it was never my favorite, but what an interesting turn of events that was that day. #2- I think this was the first or second home game. We're doing the We Will Rock You chant, and Aurelius decides it's a good time to expand it, so he tries to do Freddy Mercury's part of the song. "Buddy, your a young man, poor man..." Too funny. Just plain ridiculous. #3- Season's not over yet, waiting for another silly, ridiculous moment like these to add to my list.
