Gateway is definitely my favorite possibility, but I'd settle for a couple of the other downtown sites.

I guess by "Downtown SLC" you really mean downtown. Not the downtown that the Stingers talk about. Anyhow, I think downtown, like the Delta Center, is the downtown I would like. If it isn't close to S. Temple and Main then I'd rather have it in Sandy. Gateway would be acceptable to me. That is downtown. Not 600 South. Blech!

Up on the Mirror Lake Highway between Kamas and Evanston. The altitude would give us a home field advantage for sure. Just kidding, downtown would be my pick. I'd even make the drive from St. George if it was downtown (but I don't live in St. George).

I voted for Sandy, but for almost purely personal reasons - the site's practically in my backyard! For so long it looked like SLC was out of the running and I'd kinda grown attached to the idea of it being right here - and I even think it's got some real advantages. Still, I'd be happy downtown, too - especially block 22. I don't really care that much, I'm just anxious to hear some real news, and see some real plans!

New Stadium

I really hope it is in downtown Salt Lake. Can you imagine a game in Sandy that starts at 730? I like to be there an hour early, which means...RUSH HOUR! All the way from SLC. No thanks! Not to mention there is nothing to do in Sandy. If it is out by Gateway there are lots of places to go out to dinner before (or after) and lots of places to party afterwards. Plus Salt Lake is centrally located if you look at ALL of the Wasatch front.

There are a few places to eat near the proposed Sandy site. Neither the Jordan Commons or South Towne restaurants are very far away.

Traffic shouldn't be an issue for Saturday games. Weekday games, oh my.

I was under the impression that not only we'll there be official restaurants in the stadium, but Checketts plans on having quite a bit of development around the stadium.

I believe thats what they have done in Frisco (Dallas) and Carson (LA).

When we have our own stadium, how many games do you think will be on Wed night? Control over scheduling is one of the main points to having your own stadium.

Saturday nights will be fine...

I voted for downtown, but also live in Sandy (hmmm...quite a few of us, huh?)

Yea, sat. nts are ok, but I still think downtown would be more fun in general. I grew up in Detroit and they went through a phase where they moved most of the teams out to the suburbs. Then, realizing the mistake, they moved them back downtown years later. I also live in Park City, so downtown would save me a good 20 minutes.
