Strange. Did Mathis get a red card from Ellinger this time? Punt a practice pinny into the stands? Just kidding. Just kidding. You do have to wonder why he'd be absent from practice and from the medical staff oversight but be seen on a golf course (so he's in Salt Lake). There's gotta be a move in the works here.

This is where the rampant speculation begins.

You'd think anything short of a serious injury, Clint would at least be at some of the practice sessions.

As for the Rapids, just to clarify on Melamed he was their 4th or 5th round pick. They didn't have any between him and their 1st round pick, Hunter Freeman. Freeman was the 1st time the Rapids took a 1st rounder since West Hart in 2000.

Hmm. I think I'll comment on this one...
If Kreis can show up, even with an ACL tear, and we have no excuse for Mathis not showing up, then I think we should clear out Mathis and use his salary to pay for a new super-bionic knee for Kreis.

My ramblings. I'll probably regret this post once I find out Mathis has a fine excuse for not showing up to practice (something better than an ACL tear?). Anyhow, I'm waiting to see what happens....
