Count me in the pragmatic group when it comes to the name--even like Frisco's. Do I want another "Pizza Hut" type name for our stadium? No. But if a corporation is willing to pay multiple millions of dollars for naming rights, I'll put up with the goofy name.

As has been said, I'm much more concerned about the design--no permanent stage, roof included, minumum 25K, architecture and site plan integrated into a larger development. The name will likely change over time as new sponsors step forward, but the design will be with us for years to come.

No?
😉

Um, I'm pretty sure Scholesy would have to be dead for it to be a "Memorial" Stadium. And we wouldn't wish that on him just for the name. But "Wayne Scholes(y) Stadium" makes just as much sense as "Ellinger Field" or "Dunseth's Bumpy Pitch."

I'll grant that the money from a sponsorship is very helpful. But do they have to make an alliteration out of it? Another thought... do we want a Stadium for soccer that is called a 'park'? Anyhow, I'll take whatever they give. Just build it! yeah hooray!

I say hold a contest and let a fan decide the name.

Awww...where's your sense of fun? We could even put DJ's name in the seats instead of the team name like Steve was saying.

We could all fight over who gets to sit on the 'D' at every game.

I agree. When I hear the word 'park', I think of swings, slides, sand, and trees. I don't want any of those in the soccer stadium.

Yeah, playing a match in the "park" is just asking for George Carlin jokes!
