USA vs Guatemala Arena names the 18 roster. http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=233706&itype=113&iCategoryID=0
Nice to see all but 2 MLS players! Hopefully Convey will join RSL next year! Steve P, DO IT! Personally now that we are clinched i wanna see a Guatemala victory! Ruiz is out so i don't know, but they are my number 2 team and have never made it to the world cup. COME ON CHAPINES!!!! I am excited to see how cabrera will play against the mls best forwards too. By the way, he had a stellar perfrmance against T&T. The reason guatemala lost was due to confusion when he was OUT. Last edited by edaw33 : 09-06-2005 at 12:50 PM.

Convey would be interesting but I have a hard time seeing him go through all that crap at Reading, start to play well, and then take a pay cut to move back to the MLS. At least not at this point in time. Give him 8 years. ๐
I really hope we can win in Guatamela with some new faces. Winning on the road just feels really good, especially when the boys are going into those hostile lil' stadiums. __________________

According to the Guatemalan newspaper, La Prensa Libre, the National Team coach is under fire and potentially tinkering with his lineup. They believe that Ruiz, Freddy Garcia and Gustavo may all be out (Ruiz because of yellow card accumulation). Pablo Melgar is a dog - he is slow and can't mark but seems to have been immune to fault by national press in the past because he plays for Municipal, the darling of the press. He is back from suspension and will likely be moved to play central defense if Gustavo doesn't which would provide Maradiaga with an all Municipal backline which is what I've heard people stating is his vision for this game so that he can keep people that know one another playing against the US.
That said, could be a field day if Gustavo doesn't play this one, even if it is a US "B" team, which should be very good nonetheless. http://www.prensalibre.com/pl/2005/septiembre/06/122716.html Personally, having watched the Guate defense for so long, I'd have to think that without Cabrera, they have no prayer of maintaining order on the backline and coralling the speed of American attacking players. I mean, keep in mind that they were winning against T&T and Stern John scored two goals in four minutes during the period of time that Cabrera was off the pitch having a cut closed up on his eyebrow.

Since I don't get ESPN2, I might be at Iggy's...or Sky Box...or a friend's house.
I don't know yet ๐ __________________
