Man U vs. Aston Villa [R] I'm watching a recording of Man U and Aston Villa that I assume occured around 9 AM Utah time today. Aston Villa reminds me a lot of Real Salt Lake, it seems like they depend a lot of the long passes but don't retain possession a lot. Man U reminds me more of New England or Dallas, a more controlled offense with a lot of stars. Man U is up 1 - Nil and it looks like the match is just about over. I've read a little about Rooney on Man U. Apparently they made him take anger management classes. I wonder if RSL is considering this for Mathis. Clint, if you're reading this, I just mean that tongue-in-cheek.
Anyway, I'm rooting for Aston Villa because my counterpart in London, Miles, is a huge Aston Villa fan and because it seems like Man U is a lot like the Yankees, very successful and a lot of fans that like them just because they're successful. I'm just starting to get into the Premiership and this is my 2nd match. I think some MLS teams could hold their own against either Aston Villa or Man U. | |||||

Aston Villa is the classic underperfomer in the Premiership. They've got all the tradition and support they need, but never quite deliver on their promise. They're rarely either relegation candidates or championship contenders.
They had Birmingham to themselves for awhile, but Birmingham City have made it a real derby again the past couple of years. __________________
