Me? Annoy opposing fans? Nooooooo ... never. Now annoy opposing players, oohhhh now I do like to do that. There are a few players around who have listened after the game and are not very happy. :signoops:

Have you heard from fans that they aren't happy?

No, not directly.

Just for fun, I read the play by play on the opposing team's Big Soccer game thread, and both you and Hatch feature prominently when the other team doesn't have a radio broadcast of their own. Don't worry, they're all scrubs anyway, so they'll always bag on anything about RSL.

But I'm always amused at the accusations of bias. Of course you're going to describe the action from the RSL perspective--you're on the radio in Utah. But both you and Hatch call them like you see them--no sugarcoating.

Anyway, that's the source of my comments about annoying opposing fans.

I enjoy listening to you, Scholesy. Personally, I haven't heard any RSL fans say they are unhappy with the play calling. I did visit another team's fan forum as I was listening to a game RSL was playing against their team, and they had some comments. Something like..."Man, do we have to listen to these guys the whole game?! How one sided can you get?" About the only difference between my summation and their actual post were a few F-Bombs inserted in the post. You did annoy them, NICE JOB! 👍

Concur. Absolutely.

Keep up the good work. Great to have soccer expertise on the air.

OK, now I'm fascinated! I actually do try to be pretty fair and if I think it was a foul I'll call it, no matter who it was - us or them, but of course I look at most things as a fan, I am after all a fan. So it's funny they would be mad at me for it. If I think we got lucky on a call then I'll say that too. I don't mind winding the opposing team up and obviously I'll be a little harsher on them but overall I do try to be prety fair and give credit where credit is due.

It's funny, I actually get given a hard time from some RSL players because I'll compliment other players on a job well done. I am the same as the rest of the world, I have a few players I really admire on other teams.

I would love to see some of the comments from other fans, any ideas on how or where I could go to see them?

Check it out here.

It doesn't get good until a few pages in. My favorite is when they can't figure out if you're English or Australian.

Seriously.

And remember, these are Kansas City fans, who put up with sound effects to highlight play at Arrowhead.

Well, I don't know about great, but it should tell you all you want to know about what it's like to support a team that can't get radio coverage . . .

Be prepared to scroll through an abundance of inanity to get to the good parts.
