RSL - Chivas USA, Aug 6th {R}

Don't see a thread yet...

Ellinger on 1280 this morning suggested that, barring any changes over the next couple of days, our lineup is:

----------Countess--------------
Pierce - Pope - Dunseth - Broome
-----------Cutler----------------
Williams-----------Trembly/Brown
-----------Mathis----------------
----Kreis--------------Cila-------

He sounded pretty definite on every single position, with the only question being who would play at left mid.

He also said that the players are very anxious to lay down a nice beating on Chivas, saying that if Chivas "doesn't know how pumped up we are about this game, they're in for a surprise."

Looks like a good line-up to me. I hope they put the "big hurt" on Chivas this weekend. Good Luck RSL!!!!!

The Cheetos also have a mid-week game, don't they?

Tired cheeto legs + turf monster + altitude + RSL "surprise" = good things, I hope.

Also, it has been brought to my attention that this just may be the "hottest" and most "stalk-worthy" starting lineup ever produced by RSL.

Just in case you were wondering.

The mid-week game will be their second game in the US Open Cup. We would have had a game against the Rapids, but for some reason we let the Thunder get 6 goals on us. Six, can you believe it?!?!?!?

Anyway, the team better be taking this game seriously and that it won't be a walk in the park. The 3 pts are not guarenteed until the 90 min has been played.

Play well RSL!!!!!!

I think that their midweek game is Aug 10 against the Galaxy in the LA Mausoleum.

If I had to choose between Brown and Trembly, I'd choose.... to cut Cutler. Both Trembly and Brown have done some amazing work this season. I'd also love to see Jamie in the lineup, but as long as he comes in sometime during the game, I won't get too bitter. Cila has had some great results, so I can't say cut him out. How about they just let us have 15 men on the pitch? (And Chivas can have five.)

I'm optimistic about getting a win, pessimistic about scoring in the north, and wondering which version of Chivas we'll be seeing. The "Beat One of the Best Teams in the League (Oh and that team in the eastern conference too...)" version or the "We Can't Beat the North Dakota U11 Girls Team." (Borrowing from J.L.L.'s joke after the last Chivas/RSL game.)

It's gonna be hot. And sweaty. And I feel another sunburn coming on, which ticks me off ahead of time. And I hope that we sell a ton of tickets and have a great presence for ESPN2.

Amen.
