I don't think anyone is disputing the length of their existence... at least I don't think they are...

I just posted that they are getting props from City weekly...

I didn't post it to start anything either... I just posted the article because I found it and it was about RSL fans.

I really don't care if they want to be different... I really don't care if they call me a big fat bastard... they are in the stands and cheering for RSL...

I once thought that it was about the Loyalists vs RCB, that was my mistake. I once saw RCB as a threat to the Loyalists... I certainly don't anymore...
It was my fear of change... I now see RCB as an integral part of the soccer culture in Salt Lake... same as the Loyalists and the Jesters.

I think there is room for everyone...

Viva RSL!

I was actually thinking that the Weekly might be making it all up to be honest.

Jealousy is form of flattery I suppose.

I totally agree. There is room for everyone. There are all kinds of people in the world. We don't need to be afraid or feel threatened by those that are different from us.

I for one am glad that despite our differences, we have really come together as RSL fans to make RES one of the best stadiums for MLS soccer in the country. And after all, that really is the main goal. We can accomplish that with all different kinds of people working together.

It really and truly is a great day to be an RSL fan. Even as good as things are now, they are only going to get better in the future. I'm just excited to be a part of it and see it as it continues to grow.

The ONLY part of the article that really bugged me was the comment about how they "don't get how a stadium at 9400 S. makes any sense". It seemed like a completely random comment as if Rocky told the author to throw that in there somewhere at the last minute.

They sound like fun guys to rock out with (props for the flasks) but talking **** about the other fans in the media is rather lame.

It reminds me of the time when the Betas wrote into the Chrony complaining about the Sigma Chis or something. ๐Ÿ™„

The stuff about Pastorino, Howes, and Checketts was interesting.

The rest? Whatever.

I guess I'll simply not respond to parts of the article I don't agree with other than to state that I don't feel the Loyalists are quite as judgmental or intolerant as others sometimes seem to portray us.

I'm just happy to see so many different and diverse groups coming together and supporting the team.

Nice to see the Blitzz mentioned. Hope the community never forgets them as they planted a seed that helped make RSL possible.

(As an aside, the Stacey McNichol chant was fun last weekend when she helped fix the goal.)

As many of my friends know, I'm still a Blitzz girl at heart! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think she was entertained by that; how many times do you get your name chanted at a soccer game? LOL

Anyway, back to topic...
