I agree with everything you said. D.J. for MotM. But as Mango says, he is still being worked too hard. The defense was working MUCH, MUCH better, but they still need to shut down more of those attacks before they get the shot off. __________________

Ok. Who WERE these guys? Seriously.
- Very impressed with Broome's speed. Sorry, Kamler, but he's a huge improvement. - Brown held his own in the back. Not the best defensive performance ever, but I thought he was just as good a defender as he is a midfielder. For whatever that's worth. Still can't wait for Rustin to come back, though. Dunseth wasn't terrible either. - I love you, Clint. What a goal! Certainly not his most active game, but he was involved in almost every critical offensive play while he was in. - Kreis looked a little off, and looked a step slow to me. He's allowed to have at least one off-game, though, I'd think. - Jamie...are you kidding me? Poor guy is so quick, but hasn't been able to finish. I think he should have tapped back to Andy for the goal, but that's probably easier said than done. - Cila. Came back a bit to defend. Impressive performance. Trembly with a solid game as well. My top 3 men of the match (insert drumroll here): #3. Andy Williams. Had some very sweet moves, created plenty of space for himself, exhibited some speed. #2. DJ Countess. I think he's had a string of mediocre games, and has made some mistakes, but he was nearly perfect in this game. My one major gripe is that he creates no offensive opportunities with his goal kicks -- they all go directly to the other team (or out of bounds), but his saves were spectacular. #1. Don't laugh. Yes, I'm serious. My man of the match was Nelson Akwari. Absolutely SHUT DOWN Ruiz. Very physical in winning balls from him, stood his ground, and very much got into his head (at least that's the way it appeared to me -- I've never seen such a frustrated forward). Solid on clearances, usually in the right place to create an effective offsides trap, a little out of position sometimes, but it was a outrageously beautiful defensive performance, in my opinion. Any time your defense plays well, your offense will play with additional confidence. I think it showed. - Officiating. Actually pretty decent, I thought. Sure, 3 of Ruiz' patented dives were called as fouls, but any other official probably would have fallen for even more of them. And I think I just may be getting used to the fact that most officials in the league figure that the ball hitting a player's hand is no big deal. I'd like to see the play at the end of the first half which Dallas thought should have been a penalty, because it kind of looked like it might have been one to me, as well. I didn't see if there was a replay on that or not, because I was busy watching Ruiz and Rhine try to assassinate the referee. I thought the yellows given to RSL players were legit, as well. - Speaking of Rhine, that guy is a...well, what's a nice word for a**? He's lazy, would make mistakes and then yell at his teammates, complained whenever he didn't get the ball passed to him. Man. I pray that we never have him on our team. - Fan clubs sounded great. Keep it up. How come the East side always won all the prizes, though? No fair ๐

Here is a shot or two for you all.
This is part of the reason why RSL kept them scoreless. Dunseth in the face of the fish all night long! ![]() And of course here is what the fish was doing all night long!!! ![]() I think at a few points during the night I was doing the same thing and probably thinking the same thing he was... What a wonderful game!
Broome was a nice addition. Cila surprised me. Dunny has my respect again. Williams and Mathis did great. This is what we expect from these two. They definately worked for their pay on Saturday. Can they keep it up? Lets hope so. -Broome blocked like 3 CKs in a row! -DJ Countess is the man! -Between Kamler, Watson and Williams, the score should have been 5-0! Pioneer Day at Rice-Eccles: $35 Jordan Cila's pay: $11,600 a year Whooping Dallas and making EL Fish pissed: Priceless

That game was so much fun...
Between heckling "Lobster Hands" Garlick and "Jesus" Goodson, the PA playing Fitty's "P.I.M.P." for DJ, DJ almost starting a fight with Jesus, and doing the Lobster Hands Dance at every given occasion, that was the best game all year. Did anyone else notice how poor FSC's sound was? You could barely hear anything, apart from when the whole stadium was yelling DJ's name. Not even Samba Gringa or anything.
