For The Record....

I am totally new to soccer. In fact, until DadOf8 took me to a friends house to watch a game the night before we 'aloped', I had never taken the time to even get interested. So, if you see me post about something that seems WAY obvious to you, it doesn't mean I am stupid. I'm just learning the ropes is all. So, BE NICE, please. 🙁

No worries...here's the first hint...it is "offside" not "offsides"...Just a little something that drives the purists crazy.

It is great that you are taking such an interest in the game.

Many of us are fairly new to the game, so that probably won't be much of a problem.

I'm right there with ya! I just got into it this year in the first game against the Fire. So I totally feel your pain.

If some of us self-appointed experts get too pretentious, feel free to point that out to us.

I know I have a tendency to lecture, and my kids tell me (often) that it isn't one of my more attractive traits. Let me know if I've crossed that line.

Everyone should be able to learn the game at their own pace. And no one ever really becomes an expert--there's always something new to try to understand.

So we're all in this together.

I took my brother to that game and it alienated him from soccer for the rest of his life. If I had a game to pick to take my brother to, it would have been the Chivas game or the Catolica game. I'm happy that you didn't get discouraged by Chicago's butt kicking of RSL. I understand what you mean when you say you feel pain, that was a painful game. 🙂

Lol, that's ok, it still got me hooked (along with the help of having hot guys like Nik Besagno and Jamie Watson to look forward to) on the game. I like going to the games because the loyalists are so fun and crazy. Watch parties are even fun with those guys even though I despise watching any sport on TV.
