That would be the Einar Nielsen Field House, aka the place where you cannot go to work out between May-October because there is no air conditioning and you will subsequently die of heat exhaustion.

That sounds a bit like personal experience, Nessie.

Today was my first practice and I had tons of fun. It was free, it helped my daughter burn off some excess energy and I got to see some entertaining soccer. What else can you ask for?

Here's a question:

There was a guy in the southeast corner of the field, standing on top of some kind of rubber or plastic thingy with one leg and then kicking with the other leg. I had never seen that before.

Is that some kind of drill that RSL has invented? Do other pro teams do that? Or is it something that helps youth or amateur players, too?

That's been a training technique forever, I think it started with Karate Kid.

That was Paul Broome and I believe it is a training technique to strengthen the upper leg...

I have seen Jason, Tiger and Rusty doing that in the past.

Broome is coming off an ankle injury, I noticed that they had him doing the training you mentioned instead of being out with the other players. From what he said on the radio, his ankle is kind of touch-and-go right now.
