Cabrera says there is a high probability that he and RSL will reach an agreement.

TORRANCE, California (AP) - the Real Salt Lake of the American MLS manages the incorporation to its club of the zaguero and selected to Guatemalan holder Gustavo Goatherd(hahahaha Cabrera). "the talks began from the last week and we are to the delay to reach an agreement", declared Goatherd to The Associated Press. The central zaguero, of 25 years, that militate in "creams" of the Communications of Guatemalan soccer, said that "enough probability" exists of reaching an agreement with the American club. to define the hiring the four Guatemalans would add who would militate in clubs of the MLS. At the present time they are contracted to the forward Carlos Ruiz (FC Dallas) and the steering wheels Guillermo Ramirez (Galaxy of Los Angeles) and Mario Rodriguez (Crew de Columbus). Guatemala next to Mexico, South Africa and Jamaica integrates Group C in the match Gold Glass of the CONCACAF that took Wednesday 6 of July and concludes the 24. Guatemala is provided with accomodations in the city of Torrance, to the Southeastern of Los Angeles. The group began its participation the night of Friday with shocks between Guatemala-Jamaica and Mexico-South Africa in the Home Depot of the city of Carson, near Torrance.

Just finished watching Cabrera and Guatemala take on Mexico in the Gold Cup. There's no [R] on this thread so I'll not go into match results, but I will give a quick scouting report. Note that it was tough to follow Cabrera because the camera work wasn't the best and it was tough sometimes to tell who he was (another Guatemala defender looked like his twin from a distance and white numbers on light blue don't show up very well).

1. He was the anchor of the defense even though he was listed as right back in a 5-3-2 (in reality a 3-5-2).

2. Positions well but is not particularly quick on his first step so he can get caught trailing on fast serves.

3. Good in the air.

4. Not blessed with a strong defense around him. Frequently forced to cover for other players, so it's tough to evaluate his marking.

5. Played central defense for the most part. Not sure what he would play for us. Looks like he can handle either side.

6. Needs to be more aggressive in the tackle, although no one in this game was very aggressive except Pando.

7. Did OK on set pieces, although he lost his mark a couple of times.

Overall, he's clearly a good player and he did OK against a very good team. He needs to be more aggressive in MLS, but otherwise he should do well. At this point, I wouldn't say he'll turn things around for us but he will give us quality depth--and we could use that.

Along with the addition of Broome, signing Cabrera should be a big positive for our defense.

An excellent report. Thanks for that.
