Replica Jerseys I was on eBay and found myself looking through the football jerseys, how that happened, I will never know. 🙂 Anyway, I was wondering what a "replica" jersey is?
I noticed the prices for jerseys are quite cheap on eBay, like $20-40 depending if a player name is on the jersey. I looked up the Beckham Real Madrid jersey that I paid $86 for at the Adidas store in Vegas and several people had them for $30. Did I pay too much in Vegas or are the jerseys on eBay knockoffs?

Replica kits usually look the same as the "real" shirts the players wear.
Sometimes the manufacturers mess with them a little bit (I remember DC United fans complaining that they couldn't get a kit with the stars above the logo, for example, or some might not use the same high-tech fabric) though. I've gotten all of my AFC shirts directly from the club shop -- that way you get the genuine lettering/numbers and league badges, etc. I did get an autographed USA shirt on eBay, though, which was the real deal. There's a lot of cheap crap on eBay though... if you don't know the details of the shirt you're looking at really well, you can usually tell the really horrible fakes by the area of origin. There are a ton of bad knockoff shirts from random places in Asia that cost like $20.

I had a friend in Egypt who wanted me to mail him a Lakers jersey, and he in return sent me two Ahly (African Soccer Club of the Century) jerseys. When I went into Fanzz to inquire about it, I found out that there are three levels of jerseys you can buy. The cheapest ($40) is made of different fabric (I think) and is screenprinted. The most expensive one had the lettering and everything sewn into the jersey and was essentially an exact replica of the kind they worn on the courts. I think.

Clarette is right. It usually depends on the country of origin. I have a friend from Oman that can get knock offs that look pretty close to the real thing for under $10. In fact, every season in intramurals they dress their entire team in Real Madrid shirts.
The one's on eBay selling for insanely low prices, and they tend to come form Maylasia or Singapore, are most likely knockoffs. They even have them with the the 'adidas' or 'nike' logos. If you wanted the real thing you did well to buy your shirt in person. Does this store in Vegas have a lot of replica shirts or just Beckham stuff?
