Running... duh. That's the obvious answer! I'm surprised we haven't talked about that a lot before. When my hubby and I watch premiership soccer, we comment on a couple things:
(1) They keep moving. They don't get the ball and then stand around deciding what to do. They keep moving. (2) They don't hesitate their passing. It's obviously too late to pass once you've given the defense time to run over to you and get in your face. If you have the ball and you don't have somebody in your face, THAT is the time to do something with it. Not later. Anyway, that's what we've noticed in British football. You keep things moving, both the people and the ball. It's constant action and very little stopping and waiting to do something, Obviously you have to be very skilled to keep things moving or else you'll end up with (even more) sloppy passes that go to nobody or to the opposing team. We don't want that, so I'm not trying to say the team needs to just get rid of the ball. But... you know... running. That makes so much sense! :D | |||||
