Ave mos papum

I think. I'm sure on the ave, pretty sure on the papum, but guessing on the mos.

Technically it's Habemus Papam. But whatever 😉

My knowledge of Latin is pretty much nonexistent, so I will defer to anyone that actually knows any Latin.

Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum;
habemus Papam:
Eddie Pope

That's not the chant but it would be said if Eddie were made Pope
So, am I in danger of being struck by lightning for this?

What is the direct translation of habemus?

I belive that it means "we have". The Spanish is quite similar: "Habemos."

Habemus Papam.

"We have a Pope". The idea for that chant came to me in a flash of inspiration while my whole, very Catholic, city was rivited by the selection of the next Pope.

Credit fuegote and Alianza for the long, drown out monk-chanting style of the chant.

Hey Ska, I think I just repped you over the limit to get the coveted bright green box.

Back to the subject:

I personally think the Pope cheer is a bad choice. Even from within the Loyalists section, it's impossible to tell what is being said! You can't join in on something that sounds like "Ahhhh ay ohhhhhhhhhhhhh ahhhhh mmmmmmmmm." It doesn't have spread-ability. I miss the good old "Eh-dee Poh-ope!"

Oh well. Distinctive is good or something. 😛

You mean the blank-blank, blank-blank clap clap clap clap clap, cheer we seem to do a lot. I like habemus papem because it's supposed to sound like monks, plus it's clever.

we need a clever one for watson as well.
