I watch MLS because of RSL. I'm a huge EPL fan, but when we got the team I jumped on the MLS bandwagon. I was the 19th person to buy season tickets, and I swear I would have been first if their site hadn't been busted for 45 mins from the time the link went live. Denial of Service by fan I guess. 🙂
I like the fans, so EPL was a better match for me, I liked the atmosphere in the stadiums and the passion on the field.

I was a big fan of soccer and played in HS. Unfortunately after HS and the WC 94, I started college and learned that I sucked as a player.
Between school, women and my mission (not neccessarily in that order) I missed out when MLS started. But when I graduated from college I started getting back into it. BigSoccer, for all its probs, really got me in back into soccer and MLS in particular. I love MLS because its like Rover said, top level in my beloved homeland. Since then helping the Loyalist form and watching RSL start this year has really solidified my support for MLS.

I vaguely remember watching a few NASL games growing up, but I started getting hooked on soccer during late night replays of the 86 World Cup. I then started watching the national team every time I could and was excited for the year of the ugly uniforms. I started following The Bruce's DC clubs from a distance, but I didn't get too loyal or fanatical about it. I really got hooked on the game watching the EPL on Fox Sports World. When MLS announced expansion to SLC. I was done. I'm not sure I'm really a fan of MLS as much as a fan of RSL. I prefer watching MLS ahead of every other league outside of England, but if not for the local connection, I'm not sure how much I would be following the domestic game other than the Nats.

I'm a fan of MLS because I don't have to get up at 5:30 am on a Saturday morning to watch my favorite team play.

I have played soccer and been a fan of soccer since I was five years-old. I have watched MLS over the past few years whenever it was on, but I have never really followed it seriously. In fact, I had never really followed any league seriously. I just enjoyed watching soccer on TV whenever I could no matter who was playing.
It wasn't until RSL came along that I became a real fan of the MLS. It certainly makes a huge difference having a local team to cheer for. Now that RSL is here and I've become hooked, I'll be a fan of MLS for life now. I have come to really enjoy the atmosphere of the games which is different than any other sports event out there. I also think that the players are really great, not the spoiled, prima-donnas you have in other leagues. I love the fact that they are so accessible. __________________

I have loved soccer ever since I can remember. I have played since I was 6 and all through high school. I have followed the world game forever. I still remember when all those US soccer "pioneers" came back to the US so they could help start up the league (John Harkes, Tab Ramos, Wynalda, etc.). Even the likes of Valderama and Etcheverry saw what potential the US stage had. It's awesome to see players that have never been overseas making an impact on our national team. They have fine tuned there games here, and I love that the US style can't be compared to any one style of play, it is our style! That is why I follow MLS, and am excited that Salt Lake has a team, even if they aren't winning ever game, at least I get the experience of seeing great players whoop us! :o
And ever once and awhile I get to see our players make there players cry. :D

I knew absolutely nothing about soccer until I was a missionary in Rome, Italy. Instead of converting people, I became converted to a new religion - Calcio (soccer). I became fixated on serie A soccer, specifically AS Roma, and I am still and will always be Romanista.
Then one day my buddy Richard told me there was a league in the USA as well - MLS. He told me all the teams (I hated most of the names, I must confess). I started following MLS as soon as I got back from Italy. I liked DC United because I liked their name, and I liked Columbus because of the yellow and because I thought Kyle Martino was cool. Tommy Smyth used to do chats quite a bit on mlsnet.com, and once he responded to a question I sent in which was if he though MLS could make it in Utah, what with all the soccer players and returned missionaries. He said maybe in the future but not anytime too soon. Good thing Checketts proved him wrong on that one! I still love baseball, but soccer is probably even with baseball for my favorite sport. I love all sports and I'll watch just about any sporting event. __________________

Nah, I'm not cool enough for that crazy satellite radio stuff. I get Arsenal scores sent to my cell phone via SMS all season long though.
