Those in attendance go home and tell their friends how they had a great time, encouraging those who stayed at home to come to future matches so they don't miss out. The media has also helped a lot with their positive game day and post game coverage. I think any future games with the MNT will probably sell out.
Afraid I'm going to have to agree with Old Ska on this one (heavens, what's the world coming to). Remember that the attitude has to be that it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. many have spent their entire "Soccer Budget" on this one game. No one is thinking, "And then we'll go to the one next week, too". However, I don't know how much that counts. There is also the "Real World Class Soccer" crowd and they would come again and again. They're like to people who wouldn't come to Blitzz games because it was a lower division team, only these guys look down on MLS, for basically the same reason. But I do believe the numbers would go down some. I just don't know how much.

Oh but they were minor league

I was listening to HT 700 on Monday, and they were talking about the drop-off from the WCQ to the MLS match. They were talking how it was a lower quality soccer. The media sucks.

When Tom Kirkland had Brian Kamler on SB Sunday, he asked how Real would get a fan base here. Kamler talked about the Blitzz and how they were a good team.. Kirkland interjected, "But they were minor league." You could see on Kamler's face, 'I played in that minor league.' The media doesn't have a clue. These soccer fans aren't some new phenomenon. People here care and have for a while.

Like I said last year, with an MLS team here in town, the media would be forced to take notice. And Oh how Hatch has warm up!🙂

i think if we had another WCQ game in say 3 years in the next cycle attendance would be just as high. we would probably have our SSS by then and demand for the tickets would be high because there would be fewer tickets to sell. if RSL does well over the next couple of years than i have no reason to doubt that people would go just as crazy as they did for this game.

the media and press have been awesome to say the least for the team and the game overall, but sometimes they are a little clueless. especially certain reporters and such. it seems to me that the media is treating this whole thing like people have never experienced anything close to it before. they have just completely swept the blitzz and other soccer teams right under the rug and havent even thought about them. its ok though, they can have their ignorance, we have our bliss and an awesome team to support. i hope they keep it up for years to come, the pub has definitly helped sell this team to the state. without it im sure we wouldnt see the overwhelming support we have so far. if it keeps up, the team will absolutely take off and implant itself in this community. i cant believe its almost been a year now. crap time flies when your having fun.

Sadly, I really have to agree. The drop-off in quality play between the two matches was huge. I never really noticed the difference until I watched these matches closely and back-to-back. However, I am not certain that this was as apparent to the majority of people at the match, I think you have to follow soccer pretty closely to notice it.

I still love MLS of course.

With the possible of exception of the top Euro leagues, international comp. is always going to be better than club comp.

I noticed it most dramatically in the one-touch passes. It's amazing how that can change the entire game.

That was my exact comment to my brother-in-law as we were leaving RES.
