He was so close to scoring! that would've been cool. It's not like he looked bad either! :D

Besagno's first pro game full of both rookie errors and promise

My daughter who was already borderline obsessed with the boy would have gone nuts if he would have finished that header. Of course so would the rest of us.

👍

I don't know about everyone else, but I was quite impressed with Nik. I think he will make a place for himself on the team. And maybe that will cause the others to work a little harder, to make sure it isn't THEIR place he's taking (in fact, I wouldn't be surprises if that was the reason he was given this chance).

Something's got to liven up the rest of the team. Though, I don't think the main problem is effort anymore. I believe that the main problem is just knowing if Jason's going to make a run, or stay back, or if Clint is moving forward or sideways. Who's running, and when. In other words getting used to how the others play.

I think we're getting there. I'm seeing improvement. We have a great team, and I think we will soon begin seeing results to prove it. And I think Nik Besagno is going to be part of it.
By the way, I also like having 2 strikers, instead of one. Even though we didn't score, I thought it looked a lot more likely with that setup.

He made a great chance with his head off the corner which was about as close as we came to scoring all night. (Trembley) We were actually getting chances, we just couldn't finish anything. (Trembley) Cleetus has got to start connecting on free kicks, he is beating the keeper, just not getting on frame. We need finishers. (Trembley) I am starting to think we couldn't score in a brothel. 🙁 It has to get better throughout the season as these guys get used to playing together.

The kid didn't look like a kid on the field. He settled down, got the job done, and showed why he's such a great prospect for the future. He's good now, and he's only going to get better. That's the best result we could hope for.

Imagine him next year after he's spent the winter training with Hamburg.......

(Well, hopefully; that new agreement with Hamburg means that we can send guys like Watson & Besagno to Germany to at least train or maybe even play on their reserve team.)

That should make our youngsters better.
