That is all.

I concur. I will secretly root for them, but if anybody asks, I hate them.

No don't root for them... You want them to sell lots of tickets and lose every game they play.

I know your probably joking, but we really don't want Chivas to fail. I do not think the owners of Chivas really have the bolas to stick it out if their team loses 10 in a row and ends their play-off hopes mid way through the season.
Chivas USA will hurt MLS immensely, so we really don't want them to fail completely. Sure I want RSL to make the playoffs, but I shy of Chivas taking RSL's spot in the play-off hunt, I want them to succeed.

If they sell tickets and lose... no worries.

Like it or not professional sports is a business. As long as Mr. Vegara and Mr. Cue are getting a good return on their investment everyone is happy. Goats Lite won't be successful if they always lose, but that doesn't mean it would be bad if they do lose and still manage to bring in $$$.

What has me worried about the Goats is that they can't seem to get people to come to games. The losing record doesn't bether me a bit. I want them to succed as a business, not on the pitch though.

But as you pointed out Goats Lite failing is bad for MLS... any team failing is bad for MLS.

But Mr. VP, if Chivas USA continue to suck, they will not get the TV ratings and the ticket sales they need, which will result in failure.
Therefore, Chivas USA must win or die.
Simple.

More Comedy Gold on 1640 yesterday.

Goats 2.0 is losing because they are an expansion team. That's what the announcers said last night. So what are our Gringo partes posteriores doing in 3rd place?

Hans Westerhoff, Goats 1.0's "Director of Football" in Guadalajara, is coming up this week to talk to Rongen.

Maybe we'll see Octavio Zambrano? Sure, the 1998 Galaxy = the 2004-05 Phoenix Suns. But at least Zambrano's Galaxy teams didn't need the Hubble Telescope to see 5th place.

Anybody got ideas where Chivas USA will end up after they decide trying to muscle into Galaxy territory isn't as easy as they thought?

SD?
Houston?

Do you think Chivas USA will leave LA? Their attendance is not great, but they might have a better deal going with LA/MLS/Gal/HDC then they can get in Houston or other potential MLS cities.
