MOTM 7 May 2005

For those who didn't read the "Loyalists Insider Email" :
________________________

After last week’s loss to Chivas, the Loyalists voted once again for Man of the Match. In a surprising turn of events, more than half of the team got nominated by at least one person. However, the eventual result will come as no surprise.

A Loyalist from Oklahoma, said, “I was leaning towards him for most of the match—nobody else really stood out. Then when he hurt his shoulder and got back up in obvious pain and made a second save... that clinched it for me.” She was talking, of course, about RSL’s goalkeeper—and this week’s Man of the Match—DJ Countess.

DJ had another stellar game and won over RSL fans by keeping his head after being injured. Rich Myrick commented, “A warrior in goal. He wins for taking a hit, getting up, and making the save. Respect the tough guy.”

Eric Wright said, “That guy takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'! Still the highest rated keeper in the nation by save percentage - nearly 80%!”

Another nominee this week was “Tiger.” His fast feet and obvious passion have made him a favorite with fans. Brian Seppa remarked, “That guy has a motor than won’t quit.”

Nicolas Moss nominated Eddie Pope, saying he looked “solid throughout. Calmly handled dangerous situations, and made tricky tackles and clearances look routine.

Also nominated were Brian Kamler and Marlon Rojas. Congrats to all of those who were nominated this week, and especially our winner, DJ Countess. Get well soon! Please!

Votes for Saturday’s game can be emailed to and must be received before 5 p.m. on Monday. Votes for the Wednesday game against Chivas should be sent before the beginning of the next game (the following Saturday) but will be accepted through the following Monday if you include “Chivas” in the subject line.

You bet! This is the LOYALISTS MOTM, so it's important to hear what the Loyalists have to say. I send these writeups (such as they may be) to the FO and I'm not sure if they do anything with them, but I'm hoping they may find their way to the players at some point. So let your voice be heard!

(p.s. If you have something to say about MOTM please remember to put your NAME in the email. I can only guess people's names via their email address in some cases. In other cases I want to quote what you've said but don't have a name to attach to it!)
